red rubber hose

in Radiant Heating
I was on a job today that was using 3/8" id? red rubber hose for in floor radiant. Is that the old Onix?  I didn't the Onix was red. The job was installed in 1989. I knew this would be a problem when I saw two pumps bolted flange to flange. :( Thanks for what you can tell me. Harvey

    I think that Gates Rubber Company also produced some hose for application at one point in time, and I think it was red.



    During my stint as a filed investigator on the Goodyear debacle, we came across some stuff up in the Vail Valley, they told us there was a guy up there named Wally who found his own source of rubber hose, that was non GY tubing. They called it Wallytran...



    Look for identification marks. Even back in the late 80's, if it was code approved, it was required to have the makers mark on the tubing.
