    a number of causes

such as contaminated air being pulled in by the combustion air blower, quality of the gas Natural or Propane, improper adjustment of the throttle screw adjustment, failure to do a combustion test/adjustment at initial setup, the  list goes on others I am sure will give you their opinions

    Deposits?

Wow! When you blow them up they look like they are growing rather than being just deposits!

Yeah not a bad picture huh?

Every condensing boiler i have ever pulled apart from brand A to V has had some form of that booger. Boilers vented in PVC and some in PP, coaxial and 2 pipe. Most were maintained with a combustion analyizer. They look like coffee grinds to mini coral formations like shown. Just thought by now someone would have a better idea what causes it.
  • Really?

How about this?,, not too shabby after 3 seasons.
