Looking at manifolds and the accessories offered I see that there is an 'Actuator" available. Is this a thermostatically controlled valve that can be used to zone a single loop ,or loops if 2 or more are used together,?

Thanks

    Manifold Actuators

are normally electrically operated (24 volts) by a thermostat.  So, to answer your question: yes, they are (indirectly) thermostatically controlled.
