New valves for an old vapor system..

I've got an Arco Model K vapor orifice system and am looking for some new valves. Does anyone produce a thermostatic valve with an adjustable orifice?

Hi - Try Tunstall. They make Macon TRVs.   http://www.maconcontrol.com/inletorifice.html

    Not that I know of

you'd need to add an orifice plate. But a TRV already has some resistance built in, so you may not need to add any.

    Still working on that

I got back and hit the ground running, a lot of systems developed problems over that first cold weekend. We're almost caught up, just in time for the next one. 24 inches of snow so far.......

  • Adjustable orifice Valves..

Check out "Mepco" and "Barnes and Jones".  Mepco lists one and B and J aldo has something, I think.

    Model K vapor system

we just added 250 orifice plates to a system. 150 were trv;s 100 regular and the rest are original model k. while it got rid of the water hammer some of the original rads now heat better than the new. i wish the new orifaces were adjustable.

I think these are the ones that Boiler Pro was mentioning.

    thanks for all the replies..

I've seen several brands of adjustable orificie valves. Is it possible to add individual thermostatic regulation to them?
  • Wellll......

You could purchase the Mepco valves and then have Tunstall build TRV inserts for them.  They do custom work.
