in Strictly Steam
can 1 dry return on 1 pipe system. drop down into side of boiler below water line.while other one drops down into hartford loop. or should they come back in same location.in loop.

    Dry Return- Hartford Loop

    The whole idea of the Hartford Loop is that if the wet return piping develops a leak, which they quite often do, the boiler water won't flow out and the boiler run dry. The Dry Returns should drop down well below the water level of the boiler and at which point they can join together and enter the Hartford Loop at the prescribed level (usually about 2 inches below the boiler waterline).   The "Dry Return" becomes the "Wet Return" when it drops below the level of the boiler waterline even though it maybe the same pipe.
