New Low Pressure Gauge

After reading about low pressure gauges here on the wall.  I decided to install one.  The one I have is 0 to 3psi.  I ran the boiler, it ran a normal cycle about 25 min.  The gauge only rose to the first line, about .1 psi.  I though something was wrong so I closed all the rad valves and ran the boiler again.  The pressure quickly rose to 1psi.  I turned off the boiler, no problem with gauge.  Next time the boiler ran I observed the gauge again.  Same thing pressure rose to first line and fluttered slightly. Is it possible to only raise .1psi at the boiler and heat the house with no problems.
