Low pressure gauge

If I wanted to add a low pressure gauge to my steam system is this the correct type of gauge? <a href="http://gaugestore.com/prodinfo.asp?number=33020">[url=http://gaugestore.com/prodinfo.asp?number=33020]http://gaugestore.com/prodinfo.asp?number=33020</a>

It says the maximum media temp is 140F and I wasn't sure if that meant it could not withstand the temps on the boiler.

    yes that looks right, and don't worry about the temp as the pigtail will protect it with a sort of water trap. the original 0-30 gauge must remain for code purposes. i would suggest it be mounted along side the pressure controller, so you can get the pressure down as low as possible. be watchful when doing this with the standard honeywell pressuretrol, as it can suddenly become unreliable at the ideal low pressures and allow the pressure up to 10 psi!! a vaporstat is always a good investment.--nbc

    One of the issues I've been having

    is the gauge on the front of the boiler will typically read anywhere from 8-12psi when the boiler is running.  I was going to get the low pressure gauge and mount it next to the pressuretrol to see what it read.  I didn't know if the other gauge was just not reading correctly.
