residential steam boiler replacement with hot water loop

Replacing a 60 yr.old steam boiler with hot water loop. Several questions:

1. If EDR is 93 plus 1/3 pick-up results in about 125,000 BTU needed and hot water radiators are about 22 ft long and on first floor, does the volume of water in the boilers matter to prevent low water cut off problems when running steam and filling the loop? 2.Estimates include a Peerless 63-04L (123,000 BTU and water volume of 15.6 gallons, or either UTICA Peg 150 CIDE (115,000 BTU and 6.0 gallons water (3.7 gallons at LWCO, or Burnham PIN 5 SNI (115, 000 BTU and 7.9 gallons water). All list about 82% efficiency, though I don't see how heating 15.6 gallons of water can be equally efficient. Are the 15,000 BTU units too undersized? Any boiler preferences given this situation. Thanks. Steam pipes will be insulated.

    One of the questions should be: Are the 115,000 BTU boilers too small, not ,15000.

    How about

    a Slant/Fin TR-30 with a power gas burner? It's already set up for your HW loop. Slant/Fin does approve this model with Carlin, HeatWise and Midco power gas burners and these combinations run real nice, plus they are more efficient than atmospheric gas steam boilers.

    It's a gas fired steam system. Thanks though. I think that model is oil fired. They do have one gas/steam unit so I'll look into it.

    Read my post again

    Slant/Fin has approved that boiler to be gas-fired also. It depends on what burner you put on it. When I get home, I'll attach a pic of a gas-fired Intrepid we installed.
