Tech Support: "Uh, that's not coming up on my screen..."

    why cannot mfg.s make a legible serial/model no. plate? why wouldn't they know that a lightly pressed in number on shiny aluminum is ALWAYS going to be illegible...and their tech support always asks' "what model no. are you calling about?" hoffman adjustable vents are also unreadable as far as the "F" and "S" not to mention the arrow.....ahhr!

    any other gripes out there?--nbc

    What about

    serial numbers without a date code in them ? Quickest way to find out if the unit is under warantee - and many manufacturer's don't do this simple thing .

    Yep , it's too easy to wipe away the numbers on a plate if they're inked on . Everything should be stamped in my opinion .
