that you found the leak!

So many leaks are via buried returns or above the water-line that the source is found years and years later if at all. Nice to have an illustration of your success. Thanks for sharing!

A lesson on adding water to steam boiler

I thought I had tighened up my old one pipe steam system with replaced air valves and lower pressure settings, etc. But contrary to what I read on the Wall, I was adding water better than once a week and every few days when it was cold & windy.
Then I shut down the radiator with a hidden water leak. (Much wood floor damage, too.)
So now in the past 7 days there has been nearly no level change in the 'glass. I hate the think how much water had been lost through that one radiator.
    Lesson learned.
