I hope it's okay to post this here: this has nothing to do with home heating or radiators but it's steamy : )

The Oregon Steamup is happening this weekend and next. Antique Powerland is located 8-9 miles north of Salem, Oregon and is completely worth visiting for the Steamup! I went last year and was stunned by the scene; I had never imagined steam tractors and I was watching a parade of them. There is a lot going on - a steam powered log mill, steam powered ice cream and on and on. If you're in the area GO to the Steamup this weekend and next and have a good time! It's about 1.5 hours from here - I'll be going though I don't know exactly when. If you're in the area, give me a call 206 367-2626.

The Great Oregon Steam-Up
Celebrating 150 Years of Oregon Industry
July 25th & 26th and August 1st & 2nd, 2009

The Great Oregon Steam-Up is the largest event at Antique Powerland during the year and involves all of the museums and many other participants. One of the unique aspects of the event is that most of the equipment is operating. A parade takes place each day at 1:30PM and includes vintage tractors, trucks, and automobiles. The steam powered sawmill operates twice a day and the trolley tours the site perimeter all four days of the show.
This year features equipment "Made in Oregon" in honor of Oregon's 150 years of industry.

Learn about the early machinery that made Oregon work. Hear about innovators and manufactures of the past. Machines include farm tractors and implements, early engines, crawlers, fire apparatus, vintage trucks and cars, logging gear, an early Oregon flour mill, and an authentic steam sawmill. Rides include an historic trolley and a miniature railroad.

Scheduled activities: Machinery demos, sawmilling, flour milling, fire apparatus demos, harvesting, kids pedal tractor pulling, traditional tractor pulling, and a Big Parade!

Other Attractions: Blacksmithing, a country store, models, early electricity exhibit, miniature farm display, children's passport program, swap meet and flea market sales, country music, and great food! Church services held Sunday mornings at 8:00 a.m.

Gates open at 7:00 a.m. - Close at 6:00 p.m.

Admission: $8 (Children 12 and under free)

Seniors (age 62) on Sunday, August 2 - $6

RV wet camping: $20 per night - Full! No vacancy.

Dry camping: $12 per night

Free Parking - Free Transportation on Grounds - Clean Restrooms

Location: Antique Powerland is located in Brooks Oregon. 1/4 mile west off of Exit 263 on I-5 (about 8 miles north of Salem) Take I-5 to exit 263. Go west 2 blocks on Brooklake Rd and you will see us on the north side of the road.
