Can't you just size a new nipple immediately at the last elbow? Maybe I'm missing something . . .

I need some ideas on replacing a radiator with one that is 1 1/2" taller than the original.

The HO doesn't want to repipe the riser from the basement or put blocks under the radiator.

Do they make 1 1/4" radiator valves where the body is longer to make up the 1 1/2" difference?

    Is there an easy fix?

    thanks
  • I dislike offshore fittings but,

if you are handcuffed for options they do make these.
Or perhaps Christian Egli could chime-in and make you up something.

  • That's a \"pipe stretcher\"

also known as an extension coupling. You should be able to find these at the better supply houses. And yes, some are still American-made.

The homeowner doesn't want me to replace the 6 foot piece from the first floor LR that goes to the second floor.

I wish it was that easy. :-(

Roll it in with a set of street 45* 's

I only need to extend the pipe 1 1/2", don't you think rolling 2 45's would extend it more than 1 1/2".

    I need a 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" black bushing or something similar
