    gas solenoid valve

When my gas fired steam heating boiler fires up, A loud buzzing noise is coming from the gas solenoid valve. It goes away after a while. System semms to be operating OK. Do I have a problem here?

    Valve

It sounds like the magnetic coil is the buzzing problem. It can last like that for a long time or the coil can fail. The coil can get excessively hot and burn up. Not an ideal situation with a flammable or explosive fuel. My policy is to never fool around with gas valves. If it is not perfect, REPLACE IT.
  • Just reverse the wires

to the solenoid, if the buzzing stops problem solved, if not replace the valve.
