If this unit is equipted with a vision one and has a indirect tank it may be when the unit is done with a domestic hot water call that no one set the controller for a post running of the circulator to help disapate the heat still remaining in the unit ,remenber when you use a vision one the boiler will ramp up temp to a max of 204 i believe to meet the hot water tank so if the post isn't set up in the controller it will lead to that hi temp rest to go off .I have had this happen to me on one or two and one was in for more then a year also while your at it you can set the system pump to do the same just check out hte vision one manual .peace and good luck clammy

    munchkin boiler problems

    hey guys,

I went on a call with 5 year old minchkin boiler that is popping its high limit 210 degree snap disc. I cant seem to find out why this is. I reset the disc boiler ran fine shut off at 180 no problems check the flow ok the only thing i notice is when everything is heated and boiler is off burner and circs the temp stacks a little bit. i guess over night it could possible stack enough to pop the limit but i dont know any suggestions would be helpful.

    thanks

    condensate

Check the condensate drain: If the water can't leave the boiler it flashes to steam-212 degrees- and will pop the limit.
