Has anyone tried one out yet? Good or bad points?
Thanks, EJW0 -
Peerless Pro,
Haven't used one yet. They just hit the floor this week around here.
I like the size and the rear flue, with controls on the side. In a tight overhead install, this is a wonderful thing! I hope to try one soon.
I think they're finally getting it ! This is what we want. Chris0 -
I saw one of those at F W Webb. Are those boilers made in Spain or did I read something wrong????
ED0 -
Biasi / Solaia?
That was one of the suggestion over at OTT re: the origin of this boiler. Given how Peerless has a history of rebadging other makes, this shouldn't be too surprising.0 -
I
Believe this is a Heatline made in Europe,a new model to the USA

Does

Why would Peerless
Only sell to one wholesaler? Isn't in their best interest to move as many boilers as possible? Peerless has had a lot of problems over the past couple of years, this looks like this might be the worse business decision since Shelly Long left Cheers to persue a movie career!0 -
No kidding! Shelley who???????0 -
Peerless History
Constantin :
Outside of the Peerless Pinaccle and this latest 3 pass boiler what other boilers has Peerless "rebadged"?
All the best

" Peerless has had a lot of problems over the past couple of years " .
Would you care to elaborate on that ? My company has installed thousands of Peerless boilers over the years , and I can count on one hand the amount we had to replace so far .0 -
I guess
You are not a Pinnacle Installer? You are preaching to the choir buddy. Too many callbacks related to inferior equipment!0 -
Peerless
Ron Jr. what are you talking about installed thousands come on be real...and no problems we install Weil-Mclain and even they admit to having some problems...
We see at our supply house more Peerless Boiler than Weil-McLain Boilers in the defective yard they keep them in...Plus Peerless still uses old technology push nipples Weil-Mclain at least moved into the 21 century years and years ago...

Can you be
specific, please? What problems? How many? Where? Thanks.Retired and loving it.0 -
Bein' real
No joke , Ron . Peerless was our main product line for years . I've been installing for my current employer over 10 years now . And Peerless was our main line the 9 years I worked before that. We do replace old JOTs from time to time . But they are still in running condition when we do . I forgot about the bad batch of JOTs in 1985 , but the company made good on that debacle .
Now ..... you say you see more Peerless than Weil Mclain defectives at your supply house . Do you think that is a good gauge of which boiler lasts longer ? Really ? Do you have inside info the place sells equal amounts of each boiler ? Do you have further inside info that is was a defect in the boiler blocks themselves ? What would you say if I told you the most common leaking pin style boiler we replace is the 68 series ? And every one of them leak at the weakest link of the block , the O rings ? I'm with you , I think Weil Mclain makes an outstanding boiler .
But I'd rather rely on " old technology " push nipples , thank you very much .0 -
Ron P...
You obviously don't know Ron Jr. When he says thousands, he means thousands...Most of which he actually had a hand in installing...
ME0 -
You're probably right...
...I recalled more than one boiler in their portfolio that was a private-label product, but I now lack the info to compare the models they sell under the Peerless name vs. the competition. It's entirely possible that my brain is leaky again, so accept my apologies if the Pinnacle is the only private-labeled product they make. Speaking of which, do they make their own indirects?
Not that private-labeling is evil or something that sets Peerless apart, far from it. Almost every manufacturer out there rebadges something or other, whether it's the WMc Gold series of indirect tanks, Thermomax solar tubes, or the TT Prestige series of boilers. As a consumer, I appreciate the widest-possible range of product out there, as it increases my chances of finding exactly what I am looking for.
Cheers back to you and have a great weekend.0 -
I
have to agree with Ron,I don't do anywhere near the amount that he does, but in the hundreds I've done I've never had a leaker. In fact the only Peerless boilers I've ever replaced under warranty were the Tight JOT's of 20 years ago.Peerless is one of the best co's in the business,Excellent support, good products and nice guys to boot!

We are getting off the subject here
It's not about who put in how many or failures. The question is why are they only being sold by Webb? Who makes em'? We don't have a Webb near us, why can't I get one?0 -
I'd like to hear more details from you.
Please back up this broad statement. Thank you.Retired and loving it.0 -
I AM a Pinnacle installer.
Where are all these mysterious failures?
Certainly not here.0 -
It does look like a Biasi
which is not a bad thing. The Solaia is built around the Biasi casting by Boyertown Furnace Co., Peerless may be doing the same thing.
But will F.W. Webb or anyone else bring the Peerless Pro into the basement for you, like the Columbia people in Baltimore (who sell the Solaia) do?

Have seen it at Webb
The quality is not there compared to a Buderus. Looks cheap and the pricing is real low. Depending on your price class at Webb the price for a 3-section including Beckett AFG is around $1300. This really looks like a throw-a-way.
Peerless if you are breaking into the triple pass market, you can do way better than this. Way better! You will see why they are not mass distributing this boiler. Webb is a test market just like the McRib was at McDonalds! Chuckie0 -
McWebb??0 -
interesting
Now all they need to do is put a Riello on it

Got my first one today
Came in a "Happy Meal" my kid was terribly upset. He was looking for a Power Ranger toy...
Happy Holidays,

Robert
Their Indirect is made by Super-Stor, so far that makes three items rebadged...
