A \"Unit Heater\" is what you need
look for one that has a multi-speed fan so you can dial it in the way you want.
You will have to connect it as 2-pipe, with a return line that connects to the existing wet return below the waterline, and an air vent at the return connection on the heater.
You will also need a way to keep the fan from running unless the steam is up. A surface-mount aquastat on the return prior to the air vent will do this.

unit heater
Sorry for the slow responce. I want to install this instead of the huge leaking radiator we have in the "Blue room". I would like to have a CI radiator to keep some warm swing heat in addition to the unit heater. With the unit heater at the celing, could I use a U seal and than back into riser. The riser will also feed the new CI radiator at the floor. The install would consist of a T off the riser at the main, than through the heater, down trough the U seal, T back to the riser. This would isolate the unit heater but introduce water into the side of the riser. Will it bang?0 -
You'd need to return them separately
might not bang but it might quench the steam if you dumped that much condensate in a vertical line that way.
Have you considered fixing the rad? You can still get replacement push nipples.....
