Gorton 54 disc type vent valve
Does anyone know if this is appropriate for venting a steam convection type radiator. I have four of these in my house, three have 1/8th inch opening and an adjustable hoffman air vent. For some reason one has a 1/4 inch opening and hoffman didn't supply a vent of this size. I believe what is on the rad now is a small Gorton 54 disc vent valve. This rad does not get very hot.0 -

As far as I'm aware, this isn't something you should find on a steam system, it's meant to separate air from water and vent it in hot water systems.
You should bush the 1/4" down to 1/8" and use an air vent intended for steam.0 -
Does anyone make an air vent that would fit 1/4 inch on the convector? Not sure how one bushes 1/4 to 1/8?0
