How do I measure my EDR

1) Number of sections

2) Height of radiator (floor-to-top)

3) Number of columns or tubes

4) Column type or tube type radiator

Note that when it comes to "sizing the burner" that the size of the radiators only really matters for STEAM systems. For hot water systems, the "burner" is sized to the heat loss of the home--NOT to the size of the radiation.

Help! How do I measure EDR?

    Hi,

I want to measure the EDR of my old victorian radiators. I know I'm supposed to count the sections. What is the other measurement-- floor to top or just the height of the sections? What other measurements/info do I need to get the rating out of the manuals?

I have a no heat situation, my burner isn't firing and it's cold here. I may need to put in a new burner while I research a new boiler. I'm having a hard time finding a good rhode island contractor, i think i need to take the measurements myself to be sure that I get the right size burner, then tell THEM what I want.

    Can you help?

    Thanks
