One Pipe Steam Heat and NewThermostat

I replaced out dated Thermostat with a new Honeywell programable. The boiler turns on and off more often now then when with the old thermostat. The radiators do not get a chance warm up, but the desired temp. is maintained. The constaint on/off is that bad for the system?
Thanks, Ray

Did you set up the dipswitches for steam heat or hot water vs. the default? This will cause it to run longer cycles, but cycle less and will be more efficient.0
