Propress for steam?!?!?!?

I saw a plumbing and heating company doing an oil/steamer changout yesterday and noticed Propress fittings near the back door of the home. Out of curiosity I asked one of the installers if they were using those fittings for steam. "Sure, we do it all the time! No leaks!" I even checked the website a few minutes ago and it said that the standard fittings are not approved for low-pressure steam. Am I missing something?

You're not missing anything. The people who are doing that however, are missing most of their "marbles". The ProPress system is not approved for use with steam, at least in any company literature I have ever read. Them boy's are cruisin' for a bruisin' and they will probably get one.0
