One COLD steam radiator

Hi ! I have a 1933 home that has a steam boiler system. For the most part, it all works fine. Except - I have one COLD radiator, and one that the inlet pipe gets warm, but the actual radiator doesn't heat. All of the others in the house work fine. Two years ago, they all worked great - but last year the one stopped, and the other one barely gets warm.

I turned the good radiators off and the one that stays cold hissed a lot so air seems to be circulating, just not hot water.

Any ideas? The house is located in Northern Nevada and there's not a lot of technical expertise for steam systems there.

Any help or suggestions? Thanks so much!

No water in steam rads. Try cleaning your vents, or replacing them first.

    Hi Tim,

Thank you! Question, I did boil the vent in vinegar and got a lot of gunk out of it. I also took the vent off when I had the other radiators off - but it was still cold. Should it have gotten a little warmer when the vent was removed?

Do you think the valve could be the problem?

    Thank you...

Is your system 1 or 2 pipe? If one, check your main vents.

It's a one-pipe. I'll talk to my plumber. Is the vent on the non-piped side of the radiator at the bottom? (sorry, I'm not well versed in these!!)
