Temp pressure gauge problem

Snubber ? Bourdon tube area ? Man , I got some lookin' up to do on the online dictionary . 20 years in the biz and all those terms are new to me :)

The water in the gauge can happen if you hand tighten it real hard by the gauge itself . Better to just catch the threads and tighten it from the stem with an open end wrench , and not too tight - it's only 1/4 inch threads normally .

    temperture and pressure guage problem

I have a FHW boiler only two years old. The temp pressure gauge gets steam and condensate build up inside the gauge cover. It didn't condensate the first year in operation. I replaced the gauge but the new one is doing the same thing. The gauge seems to read properly but the condensate drips onto the electrical control box located just under the gauge! Could cause a big problem! Any suggestions as to what is causing this?

    Water.

Yup, that is the cause.... :)

You might install a pig-tail and gauge cock as a seal, with an impulse dampener or snubber. I suspect some over-pressurization forcing the water up into the bourdon tube area, leaking by the seal... Not normal and I do not think it is condensing but actual water if it is dripping. What brand of gauge are you using? Ashcroft, Trerice or Wexler is what we specify, even on 400 psig high rise systems. Never had an issue like that. I suspect a cheap gauge.
