Keith, the pic is huge and hard to see. Can you go back and edit it by unchecking the box that will display the pic. thanks. but, is there a trap on the 3/4 pvc line. Not at the bottom after that tee, but up high. If not, it looks like combustion could leak out through the grey drain fitting.

GB-142 install - Any suggestions
I did research on boilers and decided that a mod/con with non cell PVC vent was cheaper and more effecient than a sealed combustion boiler with a stainless chimney liner. I chose the GB-142.
First problem, I could find noone in the area who would/could install a GB-142( "we cant do that", "pushing into the expansion tank is fine"). And Buderus does not yet have a reccomended contractor list.
So I got my plumber to install it. I married the boiler to 3 existing zones. I am using a TACO 503 controller, grunfos pumps and a slew of valves (See pix).
My plumber has installed other boilers but never a mod/ con. He did not do a combustion test or a gas pressure test or ionization current check. We flushed all zones for about 30 minutes each and he fired it up. Its running and seems to be doing well. I would love to scour out someone to do the above tests but am not sure I can find them in my area. Also what else should I do?

Ted;
Thanks for the reply and sorry for the huge pic, I'll try to fix it. No there is not a trap and I see what you mean. Its piped like they had in the installation manual minus the box up top (Buderus said it wasn't needed).
I guess I would have to redo the line with a trap for both the air gap and for the exhaust take off.

First, you'll glad you went with a mod/con!
That trap has to be before you tie the boiler condensate in. Flue gas can blow down that 3/4" pipe and out of the gray fitting, there is nothing to stop it. Please move the 3/4" trap so that it is before the boiler condensate tie in.

Thank You
Thanks a lot guys. I turned it off until I get the trap in on Monday. Still mild here in VA.
