Saw a home yesterday with HWBB heat (I perform home/building inspections). Anyway, 1st time with a distribution system that contained small sections of Wirsbo PEX piping spliced into the zones - some sections were no more than 3'. There were no radiant zones. Any ideas on why someone would do this?

Because its easier and faster than dealing with
water in pipes especially if your dealing with burst pipes in winter or when remodeling, not tomention it snakes in places thats tough to get copper in and solder.0 -
Good call Bruce...........
I was gonna say, "to maybe stop an expansion noise"? But the "scorch mark" makes me think otherwise. Must have been alot of repairs and no-one knew how to solder!0
