Pipe Cleaning Optinos Today
Here are my cleaning options for today. We will be cleaing out the new copper piping, Low Loss Header, up to about the last copper pipe fittings where it connects to the existing 1.25 Iron pipe in my mon-o-flo T system.
The local Plumbing Supply House has "SOS" "Boiler Colloid" cleaner. Which seems to be aimed more at working over several days at temperature.
I have TSP substitute.
We have a pump, appropriate hoses, and low point drains to fill and circulate the new piping system (the first go arround the Vitodens boiler isolation valves will be closed). I will want to open them on the second go-arround so that we can clean the hot water heater loop piping.
Any commments on which will work best today.
Should we add some of the Boiler Colloid for long term operation since it seems to be designed to never be drained for minor cleanup.

No we did not.
Weezbo:
We did not flush the old system and the old piping looks really good. No sludge or buildup. Just a light layer of magnitite (the black stuff).
Of course, the drained water was black as ink (and so is my finger from sticking it down the older pipe).
