Horror in Amish country

We have freinds in Lancaster and were just there 2 weeks ago. Their neighbors, who we have know for a few years, are Amish and are great people. Though I am non religious, I really admire their work ethic and their dedication to their beliefs. I've also had the opportunity to help them bring in the hay and tobacco, and get a feel for what they do on a daily basis.

I'm sure this will hit the community as a whole, but the strength of the Amish people will pull them through this.

Tragic

The story of the shooting deaths of the Amish school children is absolutely horrific. I was just in that area two weeks ago for the Oil Heat Cares Retreat and drove around the countryside, admiring the Amish and the hard work they put into the land. It's hard to imagine someone so enraged that they could commit such an act. Please pray for the victim's families and for the recovery of the injured.

It's hard to imagine that a simple country schoolhouse can now be considered unsafe. It strikes at the heart of our own security everywhere.

Hug your children -- even harder tonight.

We live in difficult days

Mental illness seems to be rampart these days. I can see no other reason for this tragedy. My heart breaks for the parents.

School used to be a safe place to be.

We are rotting at the core. I heard tonight that this
evil man had a history of child molestation. This country is paying the ultimate price for tolerating deviant pedophilic behavior. It is rare when these sickos DON'T have several priors.
