Illinois Radiator Valves

Low pressure system that had a portion of the radiators adapted to danfoss thermostatic about 12 years ago. at this point about 15 - 20% still work well, the rest are down.
It does look like turnstall has conversion kits for these older danfoss units, tho nothing listed for the illinois 65a.
We have a section we'll be reopening after being vacant several years. A good number of the manuals still turn freely and just need a new disk to be ok. The rest are firmly siezed up.
Any tips on freeing up those siezed ones? Able to get the stems out ok, but unsure of repacking stem

siezed radiator valves
Hi,
We have about 60 manual radiator valves in our steam system. They are all Illinois 65A, and most are siezed up either open or closed.
The system itself is controled through thermostat controlled zone valves, however giving indidual room occupant control of their office is the goal. Would like to repair rebuild existing manual valves. Any advice or tips on doing so would be appreciated.
Thermostatic valves proved to be short lived, and due the aging supply lines, reluctant to remove entire valve assembly. Stems have been ok to remove before.

Try Tunstall
they can rebuild almost any radiator valve and even provide kits to change them to thermostatic.

Thermostatic valves should last a while. I wonder why yours failed? How much pressure is that system running?

The stems might be \"spring-packed\"
which can be problematic. Try soaking them in penetrating oil for a couple days to free them. If nothing helps, talk to Tunstall.
