Pressuretrol setting ?

My boiler came with supplemental instructions for the pressuretrol - it recommends Main = 3 Diff = 2.

"Got Steam Heat" Says use Cut in = .5 Diff = 1
Which would be Main = 1psi , Diff = .5 for a subtractive Diff pressuretrol - Mine is subtractive.

Which Setting do I use?

the system details:

Burnham Boiler Pin5sns-ME2
Honeywell L404a Pressuretrol (differential is Substactive)
One Pipe Steam

for what it is worth - the lowest setting for the main and diff is 2 psi on the Pressuretrol. I currently have the system toping out at 2.5 psi , turning back on at 1 psi.

Thanks for the help

Ray

I never set for more than 2psi cut out. .5 cut in 1.5 cut out works good. The pressure is just to break the resistance in the pipes..................ROOKIE
