makes a small tankless water heater that give heating diagrams for. Don't think you'll be able to work a Tekmar into any WH, tank or tankless.

    Right application?

    Could use some feedback.

Recently completed an out-building, 1st floor slab with Pex and 2nd floor Pex attached to the underside of the floor (with reflectors), each floor +-300sf for total of 600sf. The bld is very well insullated - walls 6", roof 10", slab insulated below & sides. Not much of a heating load. I now need to purchase & install the heating source.

With all this being said, I was looking at propane boilers, but even the modulating type generate more BTUs than I need & the cost is a bit steep. So here goes:

Any thoughts on using a simple direct vent water heater for this application? (the heater would sit adjacent to an outside wall & would prefere not to run a chimney)

I purchased a Teckmar outdoor air reset controller some time ago. Can a water heater be reset?

i would recommend a Rinnai tankless water heater or other similar use. they equate to appox 65000 btu boiler when used in this application depending on enviroment. also with modulating burner in them, it would be a very efficent.

the Rinni is rated for combo system only and is not built for a stand alone heating system use it as rated to keep the warrenty going and if you used barrier pipe use a heat exchanger to seperate the systems , Danfoss makes a really nice panel that you might still be able to get

Thanks for the feedback. I'll take a look at the Takagi.
