sofisticated heating/cooling controls

Boilerpro,

I now pretty much assume that you can't interchange 10K sensors. If they are of a different manufacturer, they can have difference resistance curves and still be called 10K. there is no "standard" resistance curve for these.

If you mix them up, it can still work. You just need to know that in the heating range this sensor is offset by N degrees.

    descrete room H/C sensors

I have a customer with a very high end heating/cooling system and the owner does not want to see thermostats.I don't think money is an issue here so I'm searching for the best solution. There are several zones of radiant along with (7) var.speed ADP air handlers for cooling and suplemental heat. I went online and saw some descrete room sensors that blend in with the wall(about the size of a quarter)from SMARTHOUSE. This product can be bought direct, but I was looking to sell something to the customer. Any of you guy's ever use something like this? I don't think the Tekmar TN4 has these sensors. Thanks!!

    we have used

blank wall plate sensors. i believe johnson controls or honeywell has them. they are basically remote sensors you hook up to a thermostat. they look like a blank plate cover you see to cover an electrical 2x4 box that isn't being used. the ones we used had a stainless steel finish. i don't know if they could be painted.

    Sensors

Aprilaire makes flush mount sensors that can be painted or papered. -DF

    I believe tekmar does

The stats have a remote sensor input and all you need is a universal 10K sensor (just watch out, HOneywell controls appear to use an oddball 12k sensor, nothing like proprietary marketing). I think tekamr has a blank plate sensor or you could just plaster a universal sensor into the wall.

    variable speed a/h

I would really take a look at those variable speed a/h some of them have specific t/stats that interface with the vari blower speeds and this may make it harder to do remote sensor unless the equiptmenet manafactors have listed stat that will interface with remote sensor capaicity also somew newer air split systems are using dc signals to cycle the condensor units on the speed compressor systems carrier and byrant i believe 18 seer peace clammy
