DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHAT IS THE MIN. HEIGHT OF A CHIMNEY OF AN ATMOSPHERIC DRAFTED BOILER TO THE TOP OF THE CROWN OF THE CHIMNEY. I CAN NOT FIND IT IN THE NATIONAL FUEL GAS CODE BOOK.

I might not have this complete as

it is off the top of my head but 2 feet higher than anypart of the stucture within 10 feet. so if you go up next to a roof you neeed toi be 2 feet higher than the highest side at ten feet away.

    Hmmmm

Are you trying to find out what the shortest allowable total height is?

    Height

Also, the horizontal connector can't be more than I believe 2/3's of the height of the stack.

    So the total height.......

So the total height of the chimney is how many feet? To get a good answer you'll need to know the stack diameter and the BTU input of the boiler also.

    Would it be

the length needed to get the draft reading the manufacture requires?

    Did you check NFPA 54?

  • Vent has to be a minimum

of 5 feet above the draft hood outlet. NFPA 54 National Fuel Gas Code(2006) section 12.6.2.3 page 54-97.
