Infrared scans and radiant floors

Found this great article while updating some of my searches on the weekend:

Good graphics to have on hand when you get that eternal question: But what if I have to drill into the radiant slab afterwards?

In response to your post in Window condensation

I don't have a list of favorite books about geothermal systems as each project is different and I usually ally myself with a local geothermal specialist like Hemmera or GeoUtility for the specific in-ground side. The project site and configuration dictate the best geothermal approach- vertical wells, open or closed loops, horizontal loops-slinkies or other, pond/lake/ocean exchanger, etc. Soil issues like bedrock, till, etc. all dictate different approaches as well.

I concentrate on minimizing the building energy demands first, then open up my toolbox of applicable systems to see what the best fit would be. Clients also have their own preferences (depending on their level of semi-educated ignorance - my neighbor has vertical well geothermal, so I want it too....even if neighbor Bob got sold a bill of goods from a good heat pump salesman...)

So, to find out more, do some google searches for things like International Geoexchange Association International Ground Source Heat Pump Association, etc.
