I was priming a pump toady after tune-up and it made a squilling noise before it picked up oil why does a pump make that kind of noise?

    Pump

Probably because the pump is empty of oil and therefore has little lubrication. When it picks up the oil it quiets down due to the lubricating effect of the oil. Sounds good to me.

It's perfectly normal for a pump
