My Parents Radiant

This is a project I did for my parents last year. I talked about this project in the threads about AFUE. It has radiant and hot water baseboard. Outdoor, slab and indoor sensors. It has two temperature outdoor reset with a Tekmar 363. All the bells and wissels.

    Y fittings

    Weezbo,

I didn't install those fittings. They are original from the 1960's. I don't think they are DWV. The socket is deep like on a pressure fitting. They don't make fittings like that any more. The y's will produce better flow so I left them. I wish I could get a pressure y fitting today. They are nice.

    thats cool:)

i tried some DWV brass long time back and Was ragged at over it;) i happened to like the way they looked and reasoned them to be at Least the equivalent of l copper:)back then they made 1"&1/8th 1"&1/4 1&1/2and 2"they have never worn out:) i also like Bypasses ..which werent terribly in vouge either:) i used to like to read old steam boiler books too.right now i supposed to get after some real blueprints...(ones not scribbled on a paper bag or piece of sheetrock:) i may just go to sleep and call it a day... thats very considerate work youve done for the "Folks"...GOD Bless...

    Beautiful and clever

I like the dual purpose enclosure for the control panel, great idea! Unique use of those Y fittings and great detailed work throughout, even in you CSST work.

Electrical controls seem to be floating in space wired that way :)

Nice to see the RPA label along with you company logo, thanks.

    Stunningly Beautiful...

And not only do you not have to lie to your parents about what you do for a living (like you were a lawyer or something :^)> ), you show them what you do with pride!

    Nibco still offers those,

Go to WWW.nibco.com and pull up the price sheets for Cast copper fitings. There's all aorts of good stuff that wholesalers are reluctant to stock due to limited demand.

It goes back to that old question, do you buy the products you want, or the products your distributor stocks?

This is an excellent looking job John. Did you buy the cabinet or fabricate it yourself? It's very neat, I like the shelves.

    Fred built it.........

The cabinet was built by Fred. Fred did most of the piping and wiring. I helped him with some of it. I did all of the CAD drawings and design work, as well as program the controls. It was my idea to put it in a cabinet with a shelf on the front.
