SHBI Rating (Steel Heating Boiler Institute Code)

I am working on a job that has an old Pacific Steel Heating Boiler. It's a low pressure steam boiler used for space heating in an old government building. The boiler capicity is rated in SHBI (Steel Heating Boiler Institute Code) for low pressure heating boilers and are based on heating surface and combustion chamber volume. The SHBI number is 4400. Does any one know how to convert this to BTU/Hr Input?

Does the boiler look anything like one of these. These are both Pacific Steam Boilers with Net Steam Square Footage Ratings of 4400 square feet. That is more than likely the number you are looking at. The one on the left would have a Model # of either 2334, 6334 or 8334 and the one on the right would be a # 8331. These ratings and pictures are out of the "Hydronics Rating Handbook". Hope this helps.
