guys use to store fittings and all the stuff you need in your trucks for installs? I just upsized from my astro van to a savana cut away(a huge step for me) and have the dilemma of finding a bin system....the akro-mills stuff look ok but pricey new...used is hard to find. Any pictures of finished products you care to share? please. kpc

Has some nice boxs that have dividers in them so that I use to seprate my small copper and black fittings. They fit on the shelves real nice and tight. The other containers I use are the 10 gallon rubber maid box with lid as I can stack them 2 high under my shelves and carry the stuff I need but do not use every day. Since I live somewhat rual Kevin I need to carry alot of product and I need to be able to find the product when I get to the battlefield.
I have a 10 ft box truck that for the most part works well for my use. Best Wishes J.Lockard0 -

Really nice work. The shelving system you've made is really sweet, I can see alot of work went into it.
We also use American Van and have not found them to be so rude. I will say our last order was screwed up and took a while to get. Normally they ship stuff out pretty quickly.
Here's their web address, its a good place to start.

fitting storage
i
,ve also always had promblems with fitting storage nothing is worse then no organation but what i've found that works the best is the old 1 quart glass soda cases there about 5 inches high with about 12 bins they used to be used by a place called brookdale soda i copped myself about 6 or 7 of them years ago and still use them i had stumbled across them at a beer making supply house they where extremlly cheap i have been looking for more but haven't found them yet each bin is stackable and fit alot of stuff between 5 of them ican fit electric, copper 1/2 to 1 1/4 steel up to 1 inch ,a bin of assorted clamps clevis hyasborb and the likes and then all speciality stuff i wish someone would still make them a few plumbers i know use them and say without them they would be screwed good lucy there dimension are like16 x 20 peaceR.A. Buckets, baby
I love them. Get a couple "bucket seats" for them for those extended troubleshooting jobs.
The bucket can come in handy should a leak spring up unexpectedly!
I built under body boxes to hold a total of 8 buckets. Pex copper and black threaded fittings.
I also keep my transfer pump and an assortment of washer hoses in one. It allows you to blend and pump glycol and chemical treatments .

Buckets
I went to Lowes and they had the bucket stackers like HR shows in his pictures.
I found a couple of 6 gallon buckets and have stackers for both of them, one for copper fittings and the other for PEX fittings. Easy to inventory what I have and easy to see what I need.
In fact, I got the idea FROM Hot Rod.
