I want to know what would cause the hot water from an electric water heater to be occasionally blueish or blackish.Very important customer!PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!

your city and state. Here in the East Bay, our water utility switched from chlorine to chloramine; an additive to kill biotics.
Besides killing fish in peoples aquariums, it attackes and degrades anything made of rubber in the water lines, like the washers in water heater connectors, etc. and will cause discoloration in the water.
