just add a blank insulated tank (electric dhw tank)and recirc through them. Depends if additional storage would solve your problem of if you need more BTUs for quick recovery.
It all comes down to how much and how fast. For typical residential additional storage capacity often handles the problem, for less $$ than an additional indirect tank.

Indirect Hot Water
Looked at a job were an addition will boost the required hot water output. Customer has new PhaseIII TR-36 that he does not want to part with.I thought of adding another Tr-36 and piping the two units together. My question is will I get similar output to larger 70 gallon indirect or is this twin arrangement somehow inefficient?

you say...
the addition will boost the output? I guess you meant that the addition will boost the need ? Yes? You can twin them together. It might actually boost your production more than a 70 gallon if you pipe it right. I believ that Heat Transfer products(Superstor) has some really good diagrams onthe website under the superstor Ultra instructions. Go to www.htproducts.com. Hope this helps. kpc0 -

Go cautious here, especially in the words you use with your client. Adding another TR35 is fine but a savy homeowner will look at the published ratings in gpm for both units totalled and expect that. Your boiler MUST be large enough to supply the BTU's .
It's the 5th grade science class schtick. Takes one btu to raise one pound (not gallon) of water one degree. That'll never change. If a client is just looking to bolster his storage capacity for "peak-demand" periods then a simple additional storage vessle will do the trick. Good luck
