A home improvement contractor recently informed me that his method of radiant heating for a bathroom floor is to lay pex tubing under floor & connect supply to domestic hot water heater & recirculate w/ bronze pump back to heater. i told him i did not think that was such a great idea. all opinions welcome on this engineering technology. bob nyc

thanx, frank. exactly what i told this mook. these unlicensed , untrained , unqualified little boy contractors are dangerous beyond my belief.i could not believe my ears when this guy was instructing me how to do this in a meeting with the client.  he said he did tons of them . i told him i should have him arrested.  after i finished explaining the legionaires disease aspect to the customer he was very happy he hired me to do the plumbing for his project. originally the contractor was doing the complete job but after i replaced his steam boiler he decided to give me the mechanical part of project. lucky for him. that dude might have killed him. bob nyc

I do it all the time works great

I run the cold water too and they get a/c, I also figured a way to get 100% eff. out of a regular gas furnace, simply install a tee in the exhaust venting and have the customer plug the outside termination when they are leaving the house for the day, vawala 100% combustion efficiency...
