  • Until the human race evolves to ensure that all school teachers and all school students are immune to the presence of CO, the schools should have GOOD CO detectors, not the cheap ones from big box stores.

I love the photo they show of the "First Alert" CO detector. It guarantees to "alert" you AFTER you've been poisoned. For such a simple thing does the question even need to be asked? Oh yeah, we spent our tax dollars on congressional hearings about steroid use in professional baseball. I guess children's safety will just have to wait until next year.

If new legislation is being drafted, now would be the time to propose a lower threshold requirement.

Public Schools in NY State will soon be required to install carbon monoxide detectors in all boiler rooms and the detectors shall be required to be tied into an alarm system which is monitored by a central station.

That's how it already is in Massachusetts. And any modification of gas equipment requiring a permit triggers the requirement of hard wired CO detectors.

Kiddie make a really cool set up. If carbon monoxide alarm goes off the boiler shuts down
