Is there any documentation supporting the use of pex in heating systems, other than low temperature radiant systems?

    Sure is

    The pipe is clearly marked as to temp and pressure ratings. All pex meets the same standard. Justt make sure if this is a heating system that you use a pex that has an oxygen barrier or you"ll end up with issues you don't want. Its tested to hold 80psi at 200 degrees.

    Its rated to 180 degrees F...

    And is actually tested to an even higher temperature for a comfort safety factor. What exactly are you looking for? It is also know that oxygen diffusion through the walls of the tubing increases as the operating temperature increases.

    just seems odd, that none of the manufacturers of pex ever mention its use in heating systems,other than low temperature applications. Even in that link for uponor, they show a radiant floor system being installed. Even design manuals intended to promote the use of pex, don't mention it being used the way it is being used by many people.

    Pex

    Look at using Viega fostapex tubing for hot water boiler systems. This is a full size Pex tubing with aluminum that works as the oxygen barrier plus the aluminum keeps the Pex pipe from drooping and growing when hot boiler water is run through it.
