Pitch of Wet Return on One Pipe System and Flushing Return Line?

does not need pitch to operate. It should be pitched for drainage and flushing. Go ahead and flush it out now, and again when you start seeing dirty boiler water.

Pitching of Wet Return and Flushing of Wet Return?

Thanks to everyone who has always posted on this site. Your expertise is always welcome.

Question # 1: My 1+1/2" wet return practically levels out after making a turn and then continues pitching back towards the boiler on a one pipe system.
I am concerned that this is were sediment and corrision will occur in the return because the pitch levels out here. Should I be concerned ? Should the pitch 1/4 per foot continue throughout the return or not? Any thoughts ?

Question # 2: If I do have to correct this pitch, and do so, should the wet return be flushed say now, during the summer when the system is down?
And is flushing the wet return a good thing to do every year, every five years, Never ? Any thoughts ?

Thanks again to Dan H. and everyone who participates on The Wall.
