    to fix it?\"

Went to look at a "system" that doesn't work as promised (picture below). I informed him I would start over and rebuild his mechanical room properly . Naturally, he was stunned at the cost and wants the original guy to come back and fix this. Why would someone think the contractor who did this for pay to come back and redo it for free?

I've (and you) have seen much worse

Even better, why does he think the guy will redo it at all? Not without one heck of a fight. If the guy understood that his installation was wrong, he wouldn't have done it that way in the first place. They tend not to like being re-educated, particularly by homeowners.

Heatboy.Do not worry, it happens all of the time.I've had one that used all Aquapex in a plateless Stapleup in conj.of a Cast iron Boiler running it a 180F,When the Bioler was clogging up and blowing the reliefv. They keep on calling the Original Guy back.which would Purge the system. When we came on a emergency call because they could not get the Orig. installer,And we told them that it was a Total redo and it would cost X $. they called the Orig. Installer back and got a Quote from him to change the System as well! Which was approx $6000 less than ours. But the Dumba.. was going to Copy ours and did not really Know how to ,he was quoting for a indr.Waterheater that has a Ferr.Exchanger in conjunction with SS and Bronze, Which would have been another Disaster a couple years from now!... SO what i said is: You can give all the ingresses to a cook, that still does not mean that he is going to make a good meal.and explained what was going to happen! and i got the job.even thought i was justifiable higher in price! Sometimes there is a happy outcome....Keep on! you'll see! Richard from Heatmeister HM.

The homeowner paid the contractor to perform a service (install a working heating system). The contractor did not perform the service yet, so the homeowner expects the contractor to perform the service in the future. If the contractor refuses to perform the service, the homeowner should take him to small claims court.

I'm assuming the contractor hasn't lived up to his side of the contract with the homeowner.

There was an error rendering this rich post.

  • educate me?

it isn't the neatest, but what's causing it to not be working as promised?
