Cooper vs steel for manifold and near boiler pipings

Had a peerless oil boiler for steam installed two years ago. They put Copper piping in from boiler for manifold and to the main steam line. I've since been told that cast iron/steel are better. I am having a lot a trouble with water hammer banging in the system, but I believe its farther down the main which is the problem. comments

although copper for steam is hated and for good reason, if installed correctly it COULD work somewhat . any pipe, steel or copper if piped wrong will cause major problems. now we need the photos.0 -
I'll take some and post when available0
