DHW smell
A relative of mine has asked for my help in solving a constant "rotten egg smell" in her domestice hot water system. It is an electric water heater, 20 gallons, using well water. The incoming water supply is filtered. I have flushed the heater and system without success. I even replaced the heater but the problem returned. Any suggestions?0 -
The magnesium anode rod(s) need to be replaced with aluminum/zinc rod(s), and the hot water tank and piping disinfected with hydrogen peroxide. This was posted here recently:

have the water sample tested.
there is also some chance that the chlorination of the system wasnt done quite Scottish and you are a victum of your own effects.0
