Thermolec control wiring

Thanks Leo for the pics.
I see the hot pulled off one leg,
I don't follow where it goes through relay, to me
it looks like it goes directly into pump. Not unless I'm
not seeing it. Does it run constant?

Our Thermolec Is the 34,120 btu ouput model. This is a small ranch house.
Two zones, we were going to upsize the panel rads to compensate for the one
temp we are planning to use. no mixing.

    wiring

I will be installing our first Thermolec electric boiler soon.

It will have two zones. one for radiant one for radiant baseboard or panel rads.

My question with this boiler is :
does the end switches go into the c-W1 terminals or the s1-s2 terminals listed for "load management" according to the schematic I have.
Also the pump wiring goes into the p-p connections , with a seperate 120v feed since this boiler has outdoor reset, is the pump continous or should I add a relay.

Also this is a tight install and was looking for the Zemet style expansion tanks.
Does anyone know a source for these tanks.

    The way we do it

Singh, the pump contact is dry, or a non-powered relay. We use power from one of the 240 legs to go through the relay then out to the pump. Tie the nuetral into the 240 nuetral (remind the sparky that you need the nuetral brought into the cabinet).

Is this a dual-energy model? we haven't installed one of those yet. Are you using a mixing device for the radiant?

Here's the latest one we installed, and yes, I turned the circ box to the top! LOL!

    AVIS!

the legged supply goes into the right side of the dry contact, then the power to the circ comes outta the left side. When the call for heat happens, the relay is closed, thus turning the circ on. I think maybe you are looking at the power for the tranny. If you follow the lower black wire from the leg, you will see it heading left, then into the contact (the one with the AVIS written on it) on the right side.

The red wire going to the top panel is the OR, and the brown is the TT wire.

By the by, if your unit arrives in French, basically what they are saying there is that that is the pump contact, and remember to replace that cover.

SO far, touch wood, we have had very good results with these boilers, very effecient.

    Hope this helps.

    100% eff.

    Thanks Leo.
I also took the cover off,I got it now. Our unit also has a circuit breaker at the feed.

What are your rates in BC? We have high rates in NY, but woodstove will be used
mostly, this will be back up heat.(unless power goes out) Plus can change out later to gas unit if want to.
For roughly $700 ,no flue or mixing ,this is a nice start into hydronic heat. PV panels could also be added. Right now electric tankless supplies DHW, which I installed a four years ago. Savings were 40% compared to electric tank WH that was there.

I think more installers should look at electric boilers and tankless WH for small homes/additions.

    Well that's

just great Devan! I don't know the exact rates off the top of my head, but I believe we are the third lowest in N.A.

Yes 100%, but even better, because this boiler will only use the elements it needs to do the job at the time. I watched one of our installs for over an hour one time, and was amazed at how little all the elements were on at one time. Very nice little electric. I think you and your customer will be very happy with it.

Have a great new year Devan!
