No Boiler pressure, why???

If your steam system was working well during this time, there would be no need to build more pressure. An old boiler with a big steam chest generating low velocity steam which satisfies the thermostat without cutting out on pressure - sounds good to me. What say the steam guys?

    No Boiler pressure, Why???

I am trying to get the pressuretrol to work on my home steam system. It did not have a pressure gauge, so I installed a new one 0-5#. ran boiler for over 35 min. and the needle just bounced between 0 and 1/10 of a LB. What could be the cause? This is a conversion from coal to NG. some info on a tag on the boiler: Old boiler; American Standard, American Severn No. C33 Series 1BJ2, Stoke Fired Steam 690, Water 1235, Fire Rte Per Hour 27LB, Valve Capacity(min)LB per hour 247; Max W.P. Steam 15LB, Water 30LB. American Radiator & Standard Sanitary Corp. Pisburg, PA. 3" mains 110foot long vented with 2 Hoffman 75's, 7 radiators total of 305 EDR vented with some hoffman 1 and 1A. Headr is 4 1/2 in. pipe about 27 inches above water line.
    Help!!!

    same situation here

Same situation here, my 0-5 gauge (newly installed) doesn't move at all, and I've never seen my pressuretrol want to cut out.

Pete, I just put in a boiler, skimmed the system, and it won't cut out on a Vaporstat set at 14 Oz. Suspect I could turn that down and it still won't cut out. Thats good. I get a good long burn until the thermostat is satisfied. What reason is there to build pressure if its not needed? Am I missing something here?

    That's great...

I am the operator of 7 steam systems in buildings I own. Only one system shows pressure on the gauge. My line of thinking says that if there is no pressure reading on the gauge the steam is moving, moving, and moving. And that is what it is all about...
