you have few options. Most of them are in the "spot" category so you would have one or two strategically placed units of any type.
Dri-Steem and Armstrong have a good line of electric resistance/inductance types (using electricity to boil water essentially) and gas-fired units. The latter requires at least a rudimentary duct system in which goes a manifold.
The electrical types have companion blower units which go in the space served. Noise may be an issue, be warned.
The other type in principle is the Ultrasonic type. This type uses a piezo device to vibrate the surface of a body of water into invisible and sometimes visible droplets. Sort of annoys the water into vapor is how I see it. Downside of this type is that any minerals in the water will wind up on every surface in the house. Water filtration and quality is essential or you will be dusting forever.
Humidifirst is one ultrasonic company. None of the units are cheap but the ultrasonic units use much less electricity to operate. They are primarily in-space units although ducted units are available.
In the end, you may want to install a duct system dedicated to humidification if it is a critical request. A filter, fan and (as a recommended option) a hot water coil to enhance absorbtion of moisture into the air could be done. This would allow the use of wetted pad types which are the least expensive to operate. Misting and wetted ductwork would not be so much of an issue and the equipment could be remote from the space.
If an open plan house all the better. Moisture will "migrate to where it is not" but you do not want to dump a lot of moisture in one place with the goal of even distribution.

Humidifiers
Opinions please. How do you handle adding humidity to your radiant projects? What manufacturers? What type systems?0
