sizing a hydronic heating system in a brownstone

I am replacing a hot air system system in a brownstone in nyc wth a new hydronic heating system using free standing radiators. Concerned about correct sizing of both radiators and boiler

You need to start with insulating the beast, if it is not already, and than do a heat loss calc. The "free heat loss calculator" at the left is a good start. it will let you plug in your room sizes wall types and such. from this program you will get boiler size, sq. ft. of radiation and such. It will give you a point or reference for when you call a contractor. Done right you will love it. best luck.0
