get a stainless steel adjustable square wrench and a mallet.afew taps on the wrench handle will set up a rhythum that will help break it.the square head grabs three sides of the nut .

    Frozen Air Vent

Can the experts give me any ideas on getting this air valve out of this radiator? 180 ft/lbs doesn’t budge it. Heat? Magic elixirs? Or just drill it out and tap in a new fitting?

Merry Christmas to all and thanks for this website.

Wheezbo. Thanks. Did as you directed and out it came, still wet and gunky after 76 years in the radiator and 13 since it last saw heat. Nothing beats experience.

Wheezbo: Got a box end around it and banged as you directed and out it came, still wet and gunky after 76 years in the radiator and 13 since it last saw heat. Thanks for the tip. Nothing beats experience.
